TROY,
FORMULA USES THE X520 ON THE SMALLER BOATS. IT IS ALSO PLASTIC. THE ONES THEY USE ON LARGER BOATS ARER THE 2010 MODELS. VERRRRRY PRICY.
Hi everyone,
I can confirm that Formula fits out lights lights as standard to their boats. The X-520 Blue model is used on the smaller boats, and our 2010 Series Thru-Hull Blues are used on the larger models.
With regards to the price; we are priced above some of our competition, but having said that, we do offer all the advantages of LED. Our lamp life we state is 40,000 hours, solid AB2 construction, 1" hole cut out for Thru-Hull models and the most approvals available on any underwater lighting product on the market. We currently have Lloyds, Rina, DNV, ABS and are currently going through Lloyds Ice class; for the largest superyachts.
Our lights are the only ones on the market where you can safely run with them on. Please refer to our video gallery section on our website to see unedited highlights of our lights in action:

All of our products have full thermal trips, so if the light ever ran above 85 degrees C, they will cut out; and only re-ignite when they have reached a sufficiently cool temperature. This ensures no damage is ever done to the lights, or to your hull.
With regards to color, we recommend our Super Green lights for dirty brown freshwater. The green color does not lose any color integrity as it travels into the water, whereas with white light you will see the browning and yellow effect; which I think we all agree looks terrible.
To see our green lights in action; in a dirty freshwater lake in the UK, please see the link below. (Lights shown are our 1520 TH Green Series).

As you can see from the picture, the green light does not degrade in color temperature the furthur into the dirty water it penetrates.
I hope this information has been of some use to everyone,
