Off season upgrades, what say you.

Hey man! Did you go with OceanX or Lumitec? I too am looking to upgrade my batteries....looking at Northstar AGM's. Just for kicks I bought this dual trumpet horn on ebay today...listened to the audio sample and it sounds much better than the single horn.

Hey RC, sorry I posted a reply back last week but now its not there????

Batteries I went with Northstar AGMs in the last boat and this boat and have had excellent performance.

I went with the Bluefin LED at 10,000 lumens each on the Formula. https://www.apexlighting.com/boat-lights/bluefinled-piranha-p24/

The last boat I went with 8 OceanLED's ProExtreme 16's and they were only 4800 lumens and I didn't care for the performance after buying in at $975 & $800 per lamp over two years.

I'm upgrading my electronics, going all Garmin this time and will have 3 8612xsv displays on my 40PC pics will follow

Been planning out the electronics upgrade am 99% certain on upgrading the legacy Vessel View to the Vessel View 7, upgrading the Raymarine E80 to the Axiom 12 Pro and replace the original depth sounder with a Raymarine I70s multi function display. Have also thought about installing 2 Axiom 9 Pro's and the Vessel View 7 instead....is there a compelling reason to have two 9" displays over one 12" display?

Hi RC!! Ok is the 4th time I post a charm? I went with 6 Ocean LED Pro extreme 16s at 4800 Lumens each on the last boat to the tune of $700/$800 each over two years then added 4 Pirhana's in between those. I wasn't impressed with them over all. This time I went with 7 BluefinLED at 10,000 Lumens each and am much happier. https://www.apexlighting.com/boat-lights/bluefinled-piranha-p24/

On the batteries, the last boat I did 4 Northstar AGM's and they were great. On this boat I did the two house batteries Northstar AGM's and the new Hardin Marine battery box with the step plate. Come spring I'll do the other 4 batteries to match so I can be 100% in that dept.

For the horns I upgraded the compressor to the $200 Italian one and it made a good difference but I'm still not 100% satisfied with it. On my last boat I did the Kalenberg horns and they WERE very impressive. So I'll probably go back to them at some point, but my Flir is first and foremost to order up.

Daaaaammm now that's impressive. If I couldn't do split screens I'd be right behind ya.

This is the 17" with the old 2 small displays also. I'll get some better pics to post, working off my tablet now.

I did this on our 48 when we had it, total JL system, 8" on back and 8" on roof. It sounded great, however when on the back platform especially if you have a jet-ski deck that lowers in the water the lower rear speakers can be a little overwhelming. So what we did was made the rear deck speakers and the roof speakers each on their own remote knob by individual amps. Little extra $$ but over all better sound from more power and better control. More power because i had nothing but 8" speakers and i bridged every amp.

OR you can run a head unit that will allow for zones and make the "swimming / water zone" for both rear firing speakers and then put the lower speakers on a remote knob from your amp.

Lots of ways to do things!

I have 4 of those JL 880's on my transom with a 800/8 running them. I need to be careful, it will blow your ear drums out.

I am also thinking of running 2 JL Audios on the rear below the trunk so I can hear the stereo better when I am swimming 👍

like this?

i put them on a separate zone on my Fusion UD750 so i can enable/disable them, and run them at a different volume. love them....but if i were doing it again, i'd create an enclosure for them.

Another upgrade in the works: Pulled the trigger on a new/old stock VesselView 7 to replace the dated SC5000. I purchased the VV7 wiring harness and power/network pigtail adapter. Wondering if there are any other PC owners with DTS who performed a similar upgrade? Based on my research I heard it's plug and play.....and reached out to Mercury Support to see if there were any additional things to look out for. If anyone has any insight I'd love to hear it.....otherwise I will report back my experience as I go through the process.
