Off season upgrades, what say you.

For most of us in cold weather regions this time of year our boating season has ended, or will be ending real soon. For those who can work on their boats over the winter what plans do you have for upgrades/mods?

I will be installing underwater lighting, more speakers and additional amp, whole new navigation system and upgraded Smartcraft.

Side note, I met a fellow 37PC owner the other day when hauling my boat. I forgot his name....are you out there? Would love to chat.

Upgrading underwater lights. Installing additional subwoofer. Installing Nautley davit system. And if the boss allows
installing another Raymarine Axiom to the helm.

I'm way good for underwater lights,

Stereo is banging to the point of over the top, Just got done with all new Raymarine Axiom 3D Pro 17 plotter, and two new small displays to match it. Simarine System to monitor all kinds of stuff, all new canvases and isinglass are done. Ceramic Coating on the entire boat has worked quite well.

The only things I have left is the newest Flir System thermal and night vision and swap out the 4 motor batteries to AGM's I already did the house batteries this year. Oh and I'm thinking about lighting up the vent gills on the sides with some dimmable blue strip lights to match the underwater lights.

Hey man! Did you go with OceanX or Lumitec? I too am looking to upgrade my batteries....looking at Northstar AGM's. Just for kicks I bought this dual trumpet horn on ebay today...listened to the audio sample and it sounds much better than the single horn.

Sweet my friend! I too am going to be updating the dash panels (using the company you recommended) when installing the new electronics.....I like the carbon fiber look.

I did Northstar AGMs for the house batteries and they are great. I did them in my last boat also. I did the horn compressor upgrade and that was a HUGE difference in sound.

These are the lights I went with 10,000 lumens each.

I am also thinking of running 2 JL Audios on the rear below the trunk so I can hear the stereo better when I am swimming

A friend just did that on his 45 Formula. Also put two JL bullet speakers facing back from the hard top. Sounds awesome when we are in the water.

Very cool.

I think I'm going to replace my arch MX-770's with the new M6-770's and relocating the MX-770's to under the rear cockpit seat. I'm also thinking about replacing the JL Audio 6X9's that I installed in the stock cutout location at the lower arch with JL Audio M6-880's. We'll see how much money I have leftover after installing an Axiom 12 Pro, I70s, Vessel View 7 and Quantum 2 radar.

I'm re-upholstering the cockpit seats . . .

The vinyl is getting quite brittle and starting to crack. It will only get worse from here, so time to replace it all.

I'm also finding, as I take the cockpit apart, that the seat bases are starting to rot. So, gotta make new ones of those too !!!

These seat bases looked fine about 5-6 years ago, when I did some work on the boat and took things apart. So what you are seeing happened in the past few years.

I plan on changing things up a bit by using some pleated/channel vinyl in some areas of the white. Since I'll be making new seat bases, I'll make sure to seal them up from moisture first.

That's going to look like a new boat when you are done...great job so far!

I did this on our 48 when we had it, total JL system, 8" on back and 8" on roof. It sounded great, however when on the back platform especially if you have a jet-ski deck that lowers in the water the lower rear speakers can be a little overwhelming. So what we did was made the rear deck speakers and the roof speakers each on their own remote knob by individual amps. Little extra $$ but over all better sound from more power and better control. More power because i had nothing but 8" speakers and i bridged every amp.

OR you can run a head unit that will allow for zones and make the "swimming / water zone" for both rear firing speakers and then put the lower speakers on a remote knob from your amp.

Lots of ways to do things!
