Silent thunder mods

Mopower,
I've got a buddy of mine that makes custom indicators to replace the old ones like yours. They are LED so they show up really good at night. His name is Marc Email: formula377@yahoo.com. See if he can send you some pictures. I think you'll like them especially as nice as your dash looks this would top it off.

Mopower, what are the cylinders that are attached to the trim cylinders and have what appears to be an orange or red line running up through the transom? I haven't seen anything like that before.

They are teleflex cables attached to the mechanical trim indicators on the dash as opposed to the electric type. See rectangle on upper right side o dash. It's tab and trim indicators.

It would be an update from your Mechanical trim indicators. They are made of a clear plastic, and actually rise out of the dash for how much trim or tab your using. Look cool at night with the red LED makes the indicator part glow real nice.

What indicators ??? ???

Project #3 is now coming together since I have most of the parts. Crank , cam , and timing chain are done. #4 cylinder came out .0005 over to get a good finish but I can live with that. If all goes well , I hope to hit the dyno 4/11 ;D

Well, replaced the silent thunder today and it was 90% successful after the mods to the center exhaust. Minor problem was the upper tie bar hit the stainless tips about 1" from the top. Answer.... do without upper tie bar , add stops to trim rams , or just be careful. I think I'll do without the upper tie bar for now.

Started the port engine to burn off the fogging oil so I can change plug and not mess them up burning oil and found it sounds better without the baffles

Looks good MO. Bring her up to south Jersey on the Mullica! I'll show you around the river (keep you otta the stumps) and buy you lunch at Sweetwater Casino. ;D

If not see you at the ches inn on the 30th of July.

Knock on wood, have not hit a stump in the last 6 years!!

Not much has changed since 58'59' ;D except they have about 90 slips now.

It seems to me , somewhere along the line there was a major fire there and they rebuilt. Early or mid 70s rings a bell ???

Buttoned it up today. Just about ready for the dyno Friday ;D

Been two years since my engines were last dynoed and gasoline has changed in that time from MTBE to ethanol additives. Two years ago I did 647 hp and 680 ft lb torque on 89 octane. To save some money , I switched to 87 Octane and found my engine was rather lean. Long story short , after going up 5 jet sizes I wound up with 661 hp and 692 torque with 34* of timing

See it live
