Doubt I can make it on a Tuesday...but I am sure they will appreciate all that everybody did to help!
 
When I went out, I flew Jet Blue from JFK, New York into Columbus, Ohio. I then rented a car and drove about 2 hours to Decatur, high speed highway for all but about 10-12 miles. For some reason the ride back didn't get me to the airport so the trip was longer! go figure. Wish I could make it, maybe ABC in New York will pick up the tab for me, it would make a pretty cool news story ;D ::) 8)
 
Fort Wayne (FWA) is the closest airport with airline service.

It's doubtful that I will be able to make it, although I am trying to move some things around. If I do make it, I'll probably come in the night before. Any lodging suggestions in or around Decatur?

Do we know if anybody from the Forum is actually able to make it to this event? I am still trying to make it, but I hate to be the only one...
 
I am working on it. No matter what, I have to be in San Diego on Wednesday morning, and as such, would only be able to stay in Decatur until about 1:00PM. By that time, I would have to "exit stage right" to catch a flight out of FWA. That's one of the reasons I would come a day early, so as to have a little time at the factory.....something I've been striving to do for a while.

Anyhow, if we can identify how many will make it, perhaps we could block a handful of rooms at one of the hotels.....that is if anyone would be coming in the night before. It would be a pleasure to meet some of the benefactors..... not to mention meeting some of those we organized the effort for. :D

We, at Formula, are trying to get a head count of Formula owners that are making the trip here on Tuesday. If you could let me know if you are I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Sarah,

If the weather is generally good for airline travel on Monday and Tuesday, it is looking increasingly likely that I will try to make it, albeit for a short stay. As I previously mentioned, I would probably come the day before, as I would only be able to stay a short while for the gathering next Tuesday. I had previously mentioned to my TAG rep that I wanted to make a visit in the near term, and perhaps Monday afternoon would work for this, consolidated with a visit for the gathering on Tuesday. We'll see.

That said, it would be helpful to have an approximate drive time to Fort Wayne airport for my departure. Mapquest indicates about a half hour, but considering mid-day traffic, I wanted to see if it might take a little longer, so as to plan for a worst case scenario. Best guess, I would be leaving the factory in the 12:30-1:15 time frame on Tuesday. Any input on that would be appreciated, as right now I am looking at flying out of FWA at either 2:30 or 3:50.

Also, a few hotels have been mentioned in this thread. Do you guys make a specific hotel recommendation when folks are coming to the factory?

The drive from FWA is about 30 minutes. Even with traffic it shouldn't take any longer then 45 minutes. It is an easy drive that is rarely congested. If you need any other info let me know.
