LED Lights

I saw a new MasterCraft 300 the other night. Looked slick. Had tons of LED lights (blue) throughout the cockpit for "mood lighting". I want to do the same thing. Anyone done this? Anyone know where I can purchase these lights?

Although the Ocean LED lights are great their is a tremendous alternate that I installed last year on my 07 31' PC.

They are made by KEP Marine (http://www.kep-marine.com/fishGlow-underwater-LED-lights/fish-glow-underwater-led-lights-.html).

I have Outdrives and installed the 1 small size Blue LED's (Model FGR6) on the outside of each drive and 1 middle size Blue LED (Model FGR12) in-between the drives. Not only are they almost 1/2 the price as the Ocean LED lights but they are surface mounted. All that you need to do is purchase a clamshell cover to go over the hole that you drill ABOVE THE WATER LINE in the transom...... I installed a 5 amp breaker at the panel by the helm (floor level) and a water proof toggle switch next to the breaker to control the underwater lights. The lights are good for 50,000 hours and like the Ocean LED lights can be run out of the water i.e., while on plane.

In addition I added to the Blue LED Theme by purchasing the White/Blue courtesy lights (Stock on the 08/09 Formula's) from :http://www.itc-marine.com/led.html. The lights were approx $35.00 each. I replaced the light by the aft refrigerator and the two lights on the transom. In addition, I put two in the radar arch port/starboard of the centrally located stock radar arch light. To make it look even better I replaced the bulb in center light with a white LED light bulb so when the lights are in the "white" mode, all three lights in the arch are the same color white.

Ah to be a Formulahaulic.....

I purchased them directly from ITC Inc. The gentlemen that I spoke to was Daren @ 616 396-1355.

The original item number was 69600 -SS (SS stands for Stainless Steel). The White/Blue LED lights were not on their Website however Daren hooked me up with them. They were approx $35.00 per light. I purchased one extra just in case.....

If you speak to Daren, tell him that Billy from New Jersey said hello.

I did not take any pictures simply because the light fixture is exactly the same at the one that came with the boat. It simply has both Blue and White LED lights in it which require one additional wire to be run from the helm switch to each of the lights

LBI4fun - They look nice, but I thought the layout down below wasn't much to write home about. Looks slick, but WAY too much $$$$ for what you get IMO. For the money, I'd rather a Formula 370ss!!!

What I did like was the very small LED's throughout the cockpit. They looked like they were the size of a pencil's eraser! There must have been at least 20 of them! They had the under the arch as well. Our boats would look pretty sweet with these things!

Just wish I knew the manufaturer. Guess I will have to contact Master Craft themselves. ???

DEFENDER MARINE
Blue led baitwell lights and can order 12 volt remote with 2 circuits put 3 across back to light platform and 2 in arch.

Another concept to consider is switching out the power hungry & heat producing monster factory lights in favor of warm white LED's. They last forever; are essentially heat-free & are just as bright as the factory lights. Our cabin is just as bright as it was before the swap & several degrees cooler. The best part is that they're a piece of cake to switch the bulbs.

Solyluna

We ordered from two different companies. One is Sailorsams (Part # ICM-LEDG4S) ( www.sailorsams.com ) & the other is Daniel R. Smith & Associates ( www.drsa.com ). DRSA is a supplier to Formula & has all of their schematics which is a huge help if there is any concern about the proper bulb / fixture's. We opted to swap the LED bulbs for the OEM from Formula. There are also different LED engines / fixtures that are made specifically for LED's & have a slightly brighter bulb/light. These are twice the cost of the LED light only. The lights from Sailorsams are approx 2.5 watts vs. 20+ for OEM, give off virtually no heat, will last forever & are very close to OEM in brightness. In fact, it's hard to tell the difference in the cabin of our 37 PC when we compared side-to-side. The LED's make an incredible difference in the head where temps run high.

Does anyone have the product #/part # for the blue exterior LED's that are found on the new Formulas? The remote control is pretty sweet too! I would love to do this, but can't seem to find these little lights anywhere - even from the websites given here. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the post on the the LED's I ordered 2 to see if I like them. I think they are great I'll probably switch them all.

The reading lights & the lights in the head are the absolute worst for heat. What's interesting is that Formula will install LED's everywhere but in the cabin. I must be missing something. ???

LED nav lights are available. I ordered a pair from Livorsi for our 37 PC but they didn't work out due to the configuration. My guess is that there are companies out there since they offer LED's for everything else.

Aquasignal has a great selection of LED Nav Lights, but Formula chooses not to install them for some reason....

I know my 34PC has the series 20 incadescent, and haven't received the best support from aquasignal on whether the LEDs are a simple remove / replace with the LEDs. I do know that they don't have an all-around LED light that is a replacement for my mast light, yet. Supposed to be coming....

I'll give them a shot. It's puzzling why manufacturers refuse to install LED's all the way around for the obvious reasons. Pricing can't be the reason because I don't know one owner that wouldn't be willing to pay the extra charge to enjoy the endless advantages of LED technology. They'll install them in the cockpits & for underwater but haven't seen the advantages of installing them in the cabins. It certainly means big business for after market vendors.
