Engine Hatch Actuator


well, in good news, my ram actually works - the connector between the ram and the boat must have fried. I cut it out and hooked it to a 12v battery and it went up/down just fine. I wonder if the connector was a problem for a while now. it seems faster now too. So, saved $900 some by messing around with it.
 
Finally got around to grinding town the top of the actuator, so it actually fit the formula brackets, now I can open my hatch really far! I also used a wire wheel and painted the bottom area while it was out of the boat. Hopefully get a good 10 more year out of this.

Go to a site called SurplusCenter.com. I bought a hatch actuator from them a few years ago for my 34PC and it has worked perfectly. The have options of sizes and ball-screw or acme type and they cost is significantly lower then buying the OEM unit.
