Anyone else tow with an EcoBoost?

My daily also. What trim level? I went with platinum. I have an ARE cap on order, and a Carli 4.5 inch suspension with 37 x 12.5 also coming.

I went with a loaded up XLT gasser. It doesn't have every bell and whistle like my 150 did, but it was the right price and I had a hell of a time finding a truck that would suit me. Every dealership I called seemed to have the superduties sold before they were even on the lot. I happened to find this one the same day it came off the truck for delivery. If I wasnt saving for my wedding, I would have likely gone for a 350 Lariet Diesel, but right now that just isnt in the cards.

I've skipped this thread because I figured it was talking about the smaller boats. Then I saw you were towing a 330ss with a 150! Eak! Glad you finally got a 250. I towed my 330ss with two different trucks, 08 F350 with a tuned 6.4 diesel, and 2017 F350 with the 6.7 diesel stock.

The 330 dry is about 10klbs, I estimated the boat at 11,500, and my trailer was 2k lbs. Thats 13,500 lbs you had behind an F150. Were my numbers wrong? It sure didn't feel like it towing, that's a pretty heavy combo. (I tow equipment at around that weight all the time).

The 250 will be night and day difference. I run 350SRW's to be legal on paper, NJ doesn't charge that much more for the 11,500lb GVW, and it makes the whole setup actually legal to tow per dot. 250 and 350 are almost identical besides the door tag on 250 that says 9990lbs for states that consider over 10k commercial no matter what.

Your numbers are right on the money i'd say. Towing with the 150 deff made my bhole clinch up. The truck had tons of power - but it was very much the tail wagging the dog. For the most part, I was only going from my driveway to the launch and back (lake is about 10 mins away). But on several occasions, we went up 81N to the river - about an hour and 45 away. Those trips pushed me to get a Superduty. I will drive the 250 as a daily all thru winter and get it broken in a little before hitching the monster to her in the spring. But I can already tell that its going to handle things better. And honestly... I bet getting some weight on the rear end of the 250 will actually cause it to ride a little better - maybe soften things up a bit and really plant it. Ive noticed that the truck likes to jump around slightly at highway speeds when switching lanes and whatnot when shes empty.

Where did you find that decal? I like it..

Congrats on the new truck, for sure the super duties bounce a bit at highways speeds, you get used to it. Weight in the back make them feel very nice. Do you have the 2" or 2.5" receiver? Is your trailer hitch rated high enough? I got the 2.5" weigh safe 6" drop hitch when I moved to the 2017 F350. Needed the 2.5" hitch setup. The built in lounge weight scale is amazing when loading equipment on a flatbed trailer.

My fiance got me the decal as an early xmas gift. I'll have to ask her where she snagged it, she said it was very reasonable. I have the 2.5" receiver with the integrated brake controller and the backup assist in the cab (I'll likely never use the backup assist thing, never did in my 150). The hitch I use is a Curt rated for 14,000lbs - should be fine for this load, but it is a 2" so I'll need a reducer to use it with this truck. Thinking I might just snag a new 2.5" drop hitch and be done with it.

That's what I did. The reducer added to much slop for my comfort towing 14klbs, so I researched and went with a 2.5" hitch where I can simply change the ball out to whatever I'm towing.
