45Y stereo upgrade


JL is good stuff. don't know if you noticed, but i used the JL tweeters with the WS 6.5's. either one is going to be a big upgrade over the Clarion IMO.

i considered putting another sub in the aft portion of the cockpit. if you're going to add one, i don't see a better place to put it. there's room, but i just don't feel like it's needed. on that head unit the volume goes to 33...on our best friday night dance party, it might have hit 17. unless you're in a spot where you're entertaining the entire anchorage, i'm not sure it would help...and then the mids/treble will carry better anyways. then again, more never hurts. :cool:

on the TV...my prior marina had shoddy wifi, and i didn't want to go unlimited so i could get out of my contract ASAP. now i have great wifi, and i just might agree...the only exception being that i like the local baseball which would cost an arm and a leg to stream. so, i switched my house to DirecTV and now the boat is like $5/month. not an option for everyone i know, but it solved my issues.

I did see the JL's even the logo is cool lol! Yeah it has a JL sub, but all the other speakers are Clarion with the SS covers and the Clarion head unit. I'm used to Fusion and their line of receivers and amps with all the crazy integration they do with the Garmin equipment.

We just got our Marina's wifi system upgraded and its much better than it was. We have cable at the house and DirectTV wont work there, so I cancelled it for now and will run with standard stuff to see how it runs for now.

I'll post pics for sure as things progress, I'm all about sharing mods and upgrades even if they go wrong LOL!
