2005 8.1 Mercruiser smartcraft alarm- can2 fault 16 Turn key=nothing


I don't see how it was full of water (inside the ECM) they are sealed units, or at least should be
 
I don’t either but there is fluid sloshing around and a little dripping out (?)

it does explain why it quit as I went into Lake Michigan 3 different times. I thought it was the temp change but I assume the waves sloshed the fluid internally in pcm

i have looked for rain water entry in that area and see none. I set up a towel and tray Under the shroud where the pcm is normally mounted

i called Formula asking about any history they have with this issue and could it be condensation accumulating? Unfortunately, they weren’t any help. It is a Motorola device so I am going to contact them also.

i am going to run my internal water lines today-city water/hot water/on demand tank and look for leaks.

I know my canvass/carpet top leaks around the edges a bit but I although I try every couple weeks I never bilge any water out
