Where to order Formula parts from?

I want to order new Formula letters for my 260 BR. I found the part numbers on an old post somewhere and went Formula's website and emailed my local dealer according to there map. No response...

Where do you guys order factory parts from?

I would also like to find the part number for one of my cockpit seat covers, but not sure where to look up part numbers from.

Thanks

Call the TAG. I ordered gelcoat and the 31 PC gold letters that are on the side of the arch. I also got a quote on a cockpit cover.

Wasn't there a recent post that anything older than 15 years was email only now with TAG and no phone support?

I asked Bryan Boehmer (TAG) about that and he said they service all Formulas. There is no issue, especially if you are ordering parts. As far as other support, it hasn't been as fast, but I did get my build sheet in a respectable time. Formula is not going to abandon any of it's owners.

There are also many aftermarket parts dealers for things such as the cockpit lights, gauges, etc. I would recommend searching the part number to see if anyone else makes it. There are even people selling the F O R M U L A letters on ebay.

As stated the letters/logo can be bought on eBay, if your local dealer does not seem to be responsive. The seat cover (you mean the vinyl itself?) will be interesting. Formula will make a replacement seat cover (or a set of seat covers) but they only will make them in white (as far as I know). They may handle things differently for newer boats. You can tell used boats that have received new upholstery from Formula, because everything is white.

Other parts, hardware, electrical, etc. are generic as is the case with most boat manufacturers. So, it is a matter of figuring out what supplier it is from and then sourcing that on the retail market. . . sat least that tends to be the more efficient and cost effective way of sourcing 'generic' parts.

A good example is the cabin door latch on my 242SS turned out to be a Perko door latch, so an exact replacement was easy to get on the retail market. Circuit breakers were 'E-T-A' brand, not sure if they are different now.

Most latches on my 27PC are Southco and available through West Marine. Pricey little items. You learn not to slam the doors :)

Good bit of info on the letters as I'm missing an "L" in gold.

I ended up emailing TAG. Bryan promptly replied with part numbers and prices (cheaper than eBay) I'll order what I need direct from them. Thanks for the help.

I have been generally unhappy with the Southco door latch on my boat. In less than 3 years, 2 failed. Certainly the factory has been good about sending me new latches but I even took the latch apart, sent a detailed quality report ( 8 pages with photos) along with an analysis to Nick Braun at Formula (as we're used to making quality analysis reports on failed components at work), and haven't back from Formula Engineering nor from Southco. I pinged Formula again. I really worry about the experience I have had and hope that I don't have to keep replacing locks---once my warranty expires, I certainly hope that I don't need to start buying those suckers on my own. For what you pay for a boat new, one should expect the door latches to last longer. Maybe others haven't had the issue but I wonder......

Thanks, I called Formula today to get some letters to replace theletters on my 1989 206LS. I talked to Brian and he got me fixed up in a minimum amount of time.
