Water Pressure Regulator

Boat is 2002 37PC. Was talking to another boater regarding water pressure at our marina. He doesn't like the pressure regulator for the intake on the transom of the boat. He actually uses and refills his water tank on a daily basis. Is there a way to test the pressure regulator? Is there a way to bypass the pressure regulator. Don't know if mine is blocked but I sure wouldn't mine more pressure in my shower. Here is a link to the 1 I have....

I replaced my regulator on my 1999 34 PC after about 8 years. Made all the difference. You need to keep the regulator in there. If for some reason the water pressure becomes excessive, it protects your water system.
