Transom Speakers for a PC

Has anyone mounted speakers on the transom area of their PC? If so would you please post some pics. I'm considering doing this as the current stereo is hard to hear sometimes when we are in the water.

I have seen one PC have those speakers like you see on some of those wake/ski boats. Big tubes, mounted right under the radar arch pointed backwards. I think it looked like crude, but it is what it is.

Hopefully others some cleaner examples.

Here is what I have. Hope is does not look too crude.

I don't think they look like crude.
IMO, they don't look any worse than the other objects mounted on top the arch. :)

These are WAY BETTER than what I have seen....that actually looks great. I think on my boat, with minimal stuff on the arch, it might look out of place in truth be told.

Thanks for posting those pics - they actually look pretty good. I also dont have much on my arch so not sure how they would look on my boat.

my thinking was if someone wanted speakers facing rearward, this might be an option to consider. on my application, inside the arch at the upper corners would be a great spot to keep them out of the way and still give that rear directional sound. IMO the bad thing about installing them in the transom is that it just about kills the sound if you wanna listen while you are sitting in the cockpit with cocktails. speakers mounted flush into the arch don't really project the rearward sound so you gotta make a compromise somewhere or live with it. the particular picture i pointed out really looks pretty good to me although i think i would stick with one speaker/housing instead of two. this guy must be an over achiever :D. a pic of my (semi) solution is below but i'm just really not too happy with this either.

I've already got 4 cockpit speakers so the sound there is pretty great :). I plan on running a second amp for the transom speakers and have an on/off switch to activate them when i want.

sounds like you got a good plan then ;). i have fender storage in my transom so i don't think i'd have the clearance to install anything back there without using some kind of spacer.
