Speaker Upgrade on 34PC?

Good evening all. The stock speakers in the arch are Kenwood KFC-1652. The KFC-1652 is a 4ohm speaker which produces in a range of 60hz-20khz and creates 86dB/w. Not bad. The mounting depth is 2 13/32.

The Polk Audio, DB-652 ($60/pr at Crutchfield), is a 4ohm speaker with a range of 40hz-22khz. That's almost an octave lower. It creates 92dB/w and has a mounting depth of 1 13/16.

Seems like ti could be a cheap, easy upgrade to the stock speakers. With a difference of 6dB, the amp had to put out 4x the power for the Kenwood to produce the same 92db as the Polk. Has anyone tried these?

Thanks!

Hey vmaxhp (nice bike btw) I would shop for the most efficient speakers like 92 db@ 1watt is respectable.

Thanks!
I purchased them on Amazon and put them in. They fit great. They are black instead of white, but not a big deal. The existing wire lugs on the speakers fit right over the lugs on the new speakers, plug and play!. I can definitely hear a difference in the frequency range.

Yes sir. They do sound great. A 6dB gain in efficiency over the stock speaker is also quite nice. On the stock speakers, it would take 4x the energy to produce the same volume vs the Polk speaker.
