Salon Refrigerator

Hello All!

How has everyone's boating summer been?

Has anyone experienced the compressor being tripped for the salon refrigerator? Sometimes I board to find the fridge is off due to a power surge or the lawn guys unknowingly unplugging the shore power. I simply fix the plugs and turn the toggles back on. BUT, several times now I find the refrigerator is on...light inside is on...the fridge is not cold, which was the case last Sunday. I have had to discard more condiments than I care to think. I shut down the toggle on the electrical panel, give it a few minutes, then turn back on and it usually is fine. But, there has to be something that is tripping the compressor to this fridge as this has happened several times.

I replaced the original Norcold, I believe, in 2011, with a Nova Kool. What I recall is that I was having something done, after the fridge had been replaced, which required the electrical panel to be opened. I remember someone commenting that I probably did not have to replace the Norcold refrigerator, however I can't recall why. Maybe a wire is loose behind that panel, that is a connection for the salon fridge?

Hope everyone is well!

We just replaced the refer in our 41PC. It stopped cooling and we couldn’t find anyone that would work on it. Formula didn’t put any ventilation around our refer. You might pull the refer out of the cabinet and see if it works. If it does then add some vents and a fan. We put in a 9.8 cubic foot Isotherm refer and absolutely love it. We run it on 3 out of 8 and it freezes and cools fantastically.

This same thing happened to me this summer. Could hear the fridge running but it wasn't cold. Other than flipping the breaker off/on I also turned the fridge setting down from the coldest setting 7 to 6. It's worked fine since but I have no clue what happened.
