Replacing Cool Fuel Filter HOCKEY PUCK on Mercruiser 496 HO

Greetings,

I am trying to find out the procedure to change the Mercruiser Fuel/Water Separator "Hockey Puck" on a 496 HO.

I understand how to change the cartridge fuel filter, but an unsure on the white hockey puck filter, part # 21 on the following link:

That bottom filter sits underneath the cartridge in the bottom of the housing. After you get the cartridge out, get a pair of long needle nose (or other pliers) and fish for the 'nipple' that is in the center of this filter. It is a pretty tight fit to the housing, so you may have to wiggle it back and forth to get it out.

Make sure you pinch the fuel line or you will have fuel rushing into the housing when you open it up.
