Red Indicator Light on Battery Switch Went Out -- No Big Deal?

Per my related post (link below), I had to replace my port side starter solenoid. Its made by Intellitec, 12v, 100 amp. After replacement, my port engine now starts, but I noticed that the red indicator light on the starboard battery rocker switch no longer comes on when the switch is on. The starboard engine starts normally. Is this anything to worry about? Any ideas what's causing this?

My first thought would be how hard is it to swap the switches? If that is doable it would tell you quickly if the switch simply has a failed bulb or if there is a power supply issue. Carling switches aren't to hard to decipher as far as figuring out where the power comes from when the switch is ""ON" so a jumper wire and a few simple test tools would be all you'd need, to start with at least.

i assume the stbd engine won't start with the switch in 'off' position? if that's the case, it's doing it's job.

personally, i'd turn both switches on, and then put a tester to the back of each and find the difference. looking at the Carling switch diagrams quickly, it appears that all of them have an output for the indicator, so you should see a difference. then i'd swap them as Tenn suggested...assuming it's easy.

to answer your OP, so long as the engine doesn't start with the switch 'off', then there's nothing to worry about IMO. likely a bad light within the switch.
