Recalibrating my windless?

I have a Lewmar windless and it was off about 10' on the gauge, meaning when the anchor was home, the gauge said I had 10' of chain out. I tried to recalibrate and now it does not calculate the footage at all. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

Mmm, mine has a "reset" or "0" button that sets it to "0" when I am all the way in...assume you must have a different controller. Can you take a picture of the controls at the helm...that might help us try to figure out what you have.

Thanks

Im with clueless, I have a 2006 400SS and would love a gauge. Is it something that can be added or do you need a whole new windlass system?

In lieu of an electronic counter, one might paint their chain rode at certain intervals. Say every 5 feet or so. Or, if you typically anchor in a certain depth of water just mark your chain at that point. A quick, inexpensive way to gauge your anchor rode.

I guess it wouldn't be much fun unless it was calibrated for inches. My raft ups are usually done in 4-5' of water. Last week it was about 3.5' with 7 boats. A big 43" on the gauge! When you need another anchor you just walk them out.
