I've committed another blunder trying to do boat repair on my own.. I replaced the plastic panels under the rocker switches. When I went to reinstall the wires, my numbering scheme that was supposed to remember where every wire goes was a complete failure. I was only able to get the left-most switch working, which is the blower switch. I should have removed one switch at a time from the panel, and then immediately reconnected it again outside of the panel and tested it before going on to the next one. Instead, I removed all of the switches and just numbered the wires according to their position on the switches, thinking that it would all go back together in the same numbering scheme, but alas it's not working, meaning when I turn on the battery switch and try the rocker switch, it either does nothing or it trips a breaker dedicated to that switch, for example it trips the wiper breaker. I do have from Formula TAG the diagram of the original wiring for my boat, but the problem is that previous owners have replaced items on the switches and not all wires are the same as the original diagram. My boat mechanic can't come for another two weeks, and he's already let me know it will be expensive for the 42 different connections, and that's just on the port side rocker panels. There's another 24 connections on the starboard side for the two switches for windlass on/off and windlass up/down. Oh boy, fun times.
