LED Mod

eBay or Amazon just need to find the silicone with double back tape waterproof. Not the ones in the tube!

Thanks Admin, I have some of those kits, but wasn't sure how he was doing "zones" and getting the music synced, so was interested in knowing exactly what he bought and how he is setting up "zones". I'm guessing zones are individual controllers?

Yes individual controllers and get a kit that has a music input or mic in the controller

i am castines. LOL. New site I am named admin

Well alrighty then hahahaha...

Ok so question for you... How long are the individual strips you bought? I had to string two together for the length of the boat and where they connected had a ugly connector and 2-3" of excess wire, are yours that way?

I bought 3528 LED RGB waterproof strips 5m(4 total 2 per side each side it's own zone), white in color w 44key remote ebay #251525907613

Worked well for the Christmas boat parade but the 3m sticky started to give up shortly after so I removed them from the rub rail. Will probably re-purpose as cockpit lighting with new sticky.

Anyway looking for a nice permanent option for the rub rail that can run the entire side in one piece and still looking for something that isn't a arm and a leg. do you remember what you bought specifically?

Also how did you run the power cable so it was a clean install?

They are selling them in 10 meter rolls now all 1 piece. You have to make sure it says 10M x1 and NOT 10M 2X5M Its about $130 per side. I started at the bow and worked my way back to the transom. I did pre measure so I would have about 8 inches inside the hull when I was done. I drilled a hole just big enough to pass the led thru into the hull. I know your all cringing now.. The hole is drilled into the bottom of the rub rail, the white plastic part, on an angle. I then filled in the hole with 5200 so its water tight.

This is the 2nd set I have had to put on the boat. 1st set lasted 2 seasons. In the spots where the 3m tape did not hold I used super glue in small amounts to make sure it stays stuck. Actually comes off easy when you need it to with a good tug.

Thanks for the response!

I honestly forgot about this thread. I'm probably going to leave the perimeter LED lighting for Christmas boat parades but I'll be adding some to the interior here shortly along with swapping out all other lighting to LED. I'll update my "260 updates" thread once I get it done.
