JASCO Searchlight won't turn. Lights up, goes up and down but won't urn

Greetings,

We have a Jabsco spotlight that is not turning. It will light up, move up and down, but will not turn.

Can anyone provide some direction on this?

Might be wiring, but only way to know in most cases is to get into it. Assuming this it's the chrome one. Need a voltmeter and a helper. Find out if the motor is running but not moving, of motor isn't running.
 
I had the same problem 2 years ago. Found out it was the control panel was bad. Someone had a spare so I tried it out first. Simple single wire connection. Might be a real easy fix.
 
You've probably already fixed your problem, but as AllDodge said, a good place to start is by popping the cover off the light and having a look. I had the exact same problem and replaced the light with the much cheaper Marinco version (control boards are interchangeable). Come to find, one of the wires in the connector between the light and harness just fell off in my hands. I haven't tested yet if that was my problem, but something to keep in mind...
 
Mine was the touch pad, like jplazzfp. I have a girlfriend who is a mechanical engineer at ACR in FLL so I get discounts on these types of things. I also had it removed and ACR found some missing cogs and so they told me it was worth refurbishing, which I did. Switched to LED bulbs...it lights up, moves...all good.
