Ideal dinghy size for 40pc

Good morning,

I have a 03 40pc and a 8'9" dinghy which is too small. I want to go bigger but would like some feedback as to the ideal size. I do have the hydraulic swim platform.

I have an AB 9 aluminum. It’s only 9’1” but 4’9” beam. By setting the chocks further out off the back of the platform you can totally walk across the back of the boat. Aluminum is much lighter than fiberglass and it even has a locker. I had a 10 foot Achilles but with the big beam could not walk around. The deep V of the AB rides much better and drier.

I have a hard bottom center console Brig....F330 HT

I can't imagine going any bigger than this, and quite frankly how I dock is not ideal as I have to WALK over the Dinghy vs. if I docked Port side I would not have this issue. So if you Dock Port side you will have no issues.

Brig Length is 10.6" ( close to 11 with Engine up or a bit less) by 5' 5" wide

I would have loved to get an AB, but my son fell in love with this Brig, so we make it work.

Yes correct the platform is hydraulic ... just lowers the dinghy right into the water

My question still stands. When the dinghy is on the swim platform how do you get in and out of the boat?

Toofast, LOVE IT great job man! Very impressive, I can't wait to take delivery of our 40PC and get the dink set.

If you board on the port side to the doc no problem you just walk right on..... if you dock on the starboard side you have to walk on the dinghy tube.

Very nice. Did you use the factory chocks or get custom ones? My AB has a deep V and I cannot get the factory chocks adjusted enough.
