How to remove Fireboy Xintex fume detector

I need to replace the fireboy xintex fume detector control, which on my 350 SS is located on the starboard side just below my throttles. The face of the control will not turn, its put on pretty tightly. How does the control detach? Thanks in advance for the help.
 
Check the fuse before you replace it, I had the same problem and it was the .05 fuse........harder to find the fuse then fixing it. Take out the fuse panel and you will see the fuse holder on the wire lead off the fume detector. Mine works great now.
 
Fume detector alarms almost everyday this week and no smell of gas so I toggled the circuit breaker off. I bought a replacement sensor but damned if I can locate the old one. I scoured the engine compartment today looking for the red surface mount fume sensor and must have missed it.

Anyone replace their PC sensor and can point me in the right direction? Thanks
 
On my 2004 27 PC its mounted to the starboard stringer just forward of the engine. It should be mounted in the lower half of the engine compartment as gas fumes go to the lowest point.
