HELP Please Bravo III

I have a 97 7.4 MPI with a Bravo III in a 280 SS. Last two times I've used it I have noticed Drive lube blowing out the top of the reservoir in the bilge! Anythoughts?

I have seen this before. could be due to a failing bearing generating heat in the drive that causes gear lube to expand.

that was my thoughts but I was hoping for someone to prove me wrong! Its a new upper and rebuilt lower last year. Now its dealing w/ the marina to see if they will cover their work! They should be we know how that goes!

CHECK THE GASKET ON THE TOP OF THE BOTTLE INSIDE THE LID. IF ITS MISSING, OIL WILL GO EVERYWHERE. THE RESORVOIR IS PRESSURIZED WHILE UNDERWAY.

This may be related to heated outdrive.
I read about this symptom on an outdrive shower site.
Sorry I can locate the cite for you but it stated when B3s get heated (not overheated) the drive oil can pass through the seals or overflow into the bilge.

Drove to the lake this morning! The shop here in stl that did the work last year also has a place at LOZ. They said to bring it over they'd take care of it! They are going to go thru the upper and lower to check everything! No Charge they say....

I had also planned to add a drive shower when I pull the boat for the year! What is everyone using! I had been shopping a shower from Justwickedmarine.com that I really liked but was walking the sales dock at glencove a few weeks ago and saw one on a new 35 ss that didn't require drilling holes in the cavitation plate!
