I know Jerry took some pics of the banner, so when he returns, perhaps he will have a few to post as well.

Hey guys,

I just got into "Lost Wages". I've been traveling every waking moment since departing the factory, but will be home this weekend. I have a few shots on my camera, and once I get them onto my computer (where I can see them), I'll see if they are any good. If so, I'll add to the collection here.

One thing I noticed during the visit which I don't think has been mentioned yet was a slide show on one of the TV's in the factory lunchroom. This is where the party took place, and the TV had numerous excerpts from commentary here on our forum. It was neat to see our members' praises for Thunderbird's products, services, and support broadcast for all to see.

Additionally, many many folks came up to me during the visit offering thanks, and explaining how it was so nice to have something uplifting going on for a change, which left me with a good feeling to say the least.

As for the entire Porter family, I found them to be a most impressive clan.... not so much for their accomplishments, but for their demeanor in spite of their accomplishments. Each and every one of them are just everyday people. I felt it was an honor to spend time with them, as well as all who were present, including Gary, Rose, and Jed....great meeting you guys!

Awesome!

A couple acknowledgements which I think are in order....

First, I can't seem to remember who the architect of the gifting program was which we just witnessed come to fruition. However, thanks are in order to that party for being the first to think of such a nice gesture!

Also, I know GSENT put a lot of time into this drive, being not only the accounts receivable entity, but the logistics coordinator as well. Thanks are in order there too.

There are undoubtedly others behind the scenes who had instrumental roles in making this task come to fruition. To those parties...... a big thanks is also called for.

It's a stretch to think of any other manufacturer whose end users would have taken the time, and offered the resources for such an undertaking. This gesture is something I will remember for a long time. To that end, and as I mentioned to the crowd at the luncheon gathering, we do not merely think of ourselves as Thunderbird customers. Instead, we consider ourselves extended family of the Formula brand. I don't believe this phenomenon exists any place else in the marine industry, and this is yet another example of what sets Formula owners apart from the rest of the pack.

JERRY,THE ARCHITECT OF THIS MATTER WAS GEORGE MANN (MANMADE DREAMS).
IN CASE YOU ARE WONDERING, HE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE. HE INFACT DOES THIS QUITE OFTEN, JUST NOT THIS LARGE.

That is correct! Speaking of George, have not heard from him lately?

Good morning everybody. I have not spoken because I am so taken back by the enormity of what we were able to do and wanted the forum members to savior the moment. However, something is gnawing at me and I truly believe now our work is not done. Behind many of those faces we are seeing are little faces who will be going back to school in about 8-11 weeks. Some of you might have just said oh no, but I am thinking OH Yeah, we can.

I am not thinking about clothes buying, I am thinking school supplies. Essentials they will need to get their year started off right. Back packs, pens, pencils, notebooks, looseleaf paper, there is a host of items which will be needed and if they are ill prepared in the Fall, the whole school year will be an uphill battle.

As far as logistics are concerned we will need a financial collector (Gary are you still there) and someone at the factory to collect and store supplies before distribution. Time is on our side for contributions from the big box stores and other entities who favor educating our youth. Forum members please start networking to see what we can gather in the name of helping the unemployed. And I guess we can start a new thread if you guys are receptive of this. I would say I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread but that would be a lie, I know exactly what I am doing, that's how much faith I have in my fellow Formula owners.

Thanks...George

PS: You're damn straight, I'm thinking Christmas is going up on the planning board soon. ;)

Oh - MAN!!

I feel like such an idiot. I was fully aware of this idea, then let it slip from my "to-do" list, and failed to make a contribution. I feel horrible.

Everyone who contributed time, money and/or effort should be commended. I considered myself to be an avid Formula owner, but instead realize that there are plenty of you who REALLY care. Fantastic! Formula's reaction (both the company and the employees) shows that your concern and contributions are directed towards people who care every bit as much as we all hope they do.

Two first-class acts: FormulaBoatsForum.com and Formula.

I also wanted to tell everyone thank you for the pizza lunch! I really enjoyed meeting some of you and taking a part in the special day. It honestly made my day!!!

Thanks again!
Tonya

P.S. If you need the banner emailed to you that we created, please let me know @ tlhamilton@formulaboats.com. I am only working part time though, so if I don't answer you immediately please forgive me!

This is what being a member of the Formula Family is all about. I'd bet no other manufacturer has this kind of following & support. I too wish my wife & I could have been there to experience the event & enthusiasm first hand. It was a pleasure to be part of this memorable experience. It's amazing what a few dollars & kind words can do to a family that is hurting. Thanks so much Gary for making this dream become reality.
We're extremely proud to be members of the greatest Forum in the world & members of an awesome family of boating enthusiasts privileged to own & enjoy the finest craft made in the United States of America!
God Bless!
