Formula 48 Yacht

Hi folks. Long time formula owner here that sold my boat (41 PC) about a month ago. Long story short and a few bad deals, I've put an offer in on a 2005 Formula 48. The boat is equipped with Cummings QSM-11 660 diesels.

Couple of questions for those with similar boats:

* What kind of speed are you getting out of the 660's and at what rpm?
* What kind of fuel burn are you seeing? All the research I'm seeing leads me to believe approx 40gph (for both engines). Intersted in hearing others input on real-life #'s.

Any other issues that I should be aware of? I'm pretty familiar with the 41 PC and there are a lot of similarities but also a lot of changes that were made. For instance, the 48 yacht has 4 a/c units whereas the 41 only had two (one in main salon + one in the master cabin).

I will reach out to a buddy of mone that has a 2005 48 with the 660s, here is my data from a recent trip.

I have a very new to me 2004 47' w/ the Volvos, just made a 47 mile run 1 way, so nearly 100 miles total that I tracked the data on so I can have a comparison after this winters planned work of new 5 blade VeemStar props, new bottom paint that is desperately needed.

I was full fuel @ 400 gals, full of water @ 100 gals, MT waste tank, & 15 people on board with coolers loaded down with ice/drink.
Holiday weekend with heavy chop for 40 miles of the nearly 100 mile trip..... my buddy in the 37PC behind me had a smooth ride!..lol
2350 rpms
25.5 mph avg (24ish on the way there / 26ish on the way back)
22.2 gph fuel burn / engine.
