Engine solenoids won?t shut off

Anyone ever have a situation where their engine solenoids wouldn?t shut off? My parallel solenoid won?t energize or deenergize either. As I watch the colt meter when I start the engines it seems like the parallel is on, but the light on the switch isn?t.

Low batteries? You need good voltage to trip the coil.

Mine stay lit for a few seconds after you power down too.

Batteries are at 12.8, chargers on or off doesn?t make a difference.

This is definitely not them staying lit for a few seconds. You can?t even hear them disengage :(

Did you figure this out? Thought it works be good to disconnect and then reconnect the engine batteries. Also thought a long shot, but are your house batteries on? Maybe there is a control that requires them switched on?

I think it's a bad parallel solenoid. I disconnected the stbd starting batteries and read 12.8volts on the cable, once I disconnected the port starting batteries the voltage dropped to 0. I then connected the stbd starting batteries and read 12.8 volts on the port cable. Seems to be behaving exactly as I would expect it to if the parallel solenoid was engaged.

I have a replacement solenoid, just need to swap them. I hope that will fix the problem.

Good luck with it, hoping that?s it, too!
