Blower Fan Under Helm

Yesterday, I rafted up with friends after a 5 hour ride. After tying up and shutting everything off, I heard a sound like something was running. I turned the main 12v power off and still heard the noise. I turned the battery switch to off and the noise stopped. When I got home I traced the noise to a blower under the helm that you can see if you stick you head in the storage compartment next to the stairs and look up and to starboard. I don't see any reference to this in the wiring diagrams for my 1998 330 ss. It appears to be some sort of safety feature since it is wired directly to the batteries. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks.

Are you sure it's not just the bathroom blower fan . my 330 SS has a blower fan but it's connected to a hose that goes to the bathroom and goes on and off with the bathroom switch

Hmmm. Maybe but why would it not run through the 12volt panel like the bathroom light does? I will check tonight. Thanks.

I just went through the documentation set for my 1996 330 SS. Everything BUT that bathroom fan is documented. I know from experience, that there is a dual switch in the head
(bathroom) . . . one switch is for the light and the other is for the fan. I find that guests who come on the boat often turn on the fan in trying to turn on the light.

Perhaps it is 'thing' that fans/blowers circuits are supposed to be directly connected to the battery, and not part of the cabin 12v panel.

When I am out on the water for the day with guests I now make it a point to check at least 2-3 times if the fan is on. People tend to use the head, flip on the fan as they would at home and leave it on.. happens almost every time we go out with a large group.
