Anyone else tried to repair Kenwood KTS-MP400MR head unit?

My 2008 350 came with Kenwood's KTS-MP400MR stereo head unit. The AM/FM radio tuner just went out. I know its the tuner inside the unit because I have an alternate KTS (same) unit and the tuner works fine. I would swap them but there is also a problem with the alternate unit where it will not connect properly to the switching unit that controls the CD, CD Changer, Ipod connector and the AUX input at the helm. I would gladly replace this Kenwood relic if there's a new unit that can work with the existing wiring and Kenwood components. Another option is try taking both KTS units and make one good unit by swapping out the tuner and the switching unit input. Has anyone been able to repair these old Kenwood units, or has anyone replaced it with something that can connect to the existing wires?

The Fusion heads are a great replacement for that Kenwood dinosaur. Easy peasy. I did mine no sweat with an AV755. Probably go with the newer RA770 in the new boat

Thanks jlanka.. here's a photo of the back of the Kenwood with all the required inputs labeled with a letter (A,B, etc.). Can you show photos or describe how you connected the existing wires that go into the Kenwood into the new Fusion?

A) this wire goes to the stereo remotes at the helm and transom.. did you simply connect existing wire to the Fusion?
B) this is the harness connection that provides power.. did you connect the old harness into the Fusion?
C) this is the connection for the switching unit that powers the ipod connector, sirius, CD, CD Changer and the aux input at helm.. did you connect the existing cable to the Fusion?
D and E) I assume these wires go to the speakers, on my boat they have tags for "Front" and "Rear"
F) this is the input for the AM/FM antenna .. did you plug the old antenna cable into the Fusion?

Going from memory here as I'm not at the boat but...

So I changed a few things. First of all forget about the remotes. You can control the unit via an app on your phone.
As far as power, I wired the new one into the old one.
What is this "Ipod" and "CD stuff you talk of? Nobody uses that any more. Now it's USB stick or Bluetooth. Fuggetabout that other stuff
The speaker wire harnesses were easy to use on the new unit. Not a big deal to figure out.
Am/FM antenna is compatible - those are always the same
