Anyone else here have the seat in the back that flips up?

Hi folks. The back seat on my boat (41 PC) sorta hides away into the trunk. The vinyl around the banjo bolt is worn and it looks like the vinyl is wearing away. Anyone had to replace this? If so, what size vinyl did you use? Looks like the seat itself is bolted down across a piece of stainless steel or something. Thoughts?

Yours might be similar to mine, we reupholstered all cockpit pieces a few years ago. The back rest that flips up to access the seat bottom is riveted on. The rivets have to be drilled out to remove the back rest which will in turn expose the hinge. The vinyl you are seeing is upholstery vinyl that covers the hinge, nothing special. you could probably remove the hinge from the back rest and simply install new vinyl. I'll try to find a few pics for ya.

I think I incorporated the the vinyl from the back rest, told the upholstery shop to leave me a flap that I could trim myself. But I think you could replace just the hinge covering if thats all you needed to do.
