I have a 1999 PC 41. It has the OEM Claw-type anchor. When we push the anchor release button, the anchor does not fall out of its carriage. It just sits there, with a loose anchor rhode. I ultimately have to stick my hand in there and push the anchor out of its resting place. It kind of defeats the purpose of a remote button?? I think eventually im going to get hurt sticking my hand in there to push it out or fall off the boat if the weather is nasty. With that said, i am thinking about purchasing a different anchor in which will release into the water with a touch of the button. Does anyone else have this problem? Do you have a different anchor that you would recommend using?

Make sure your rollers and their brass bushings are not seized up. My previous 37PC did the same thing. It’s not a fun project to remove all of the rollers and bushings, but afterwards it fell all by itself.

Same issue here. As jetmart stated it's a known issue, the angle of the rollers isn't really steep enough to let the anchor fall as it should, sometimes. I've taken to operating the windlass from the bow, while the Admiral operates the helm. I give a little nudge as I apply down action on the windlass. It's definitely a pinch point for your fingers, so watch it. (a boat hook will work, but I'm used to it now)

Quick update. I cut the top of the stainless steel chute that the anchor sits in. It works great now. I left the forward 2-3 inches of the top of the chute. All the rest has been removed. Now, only the hatch has to be open. But, anchor deploys by itself without having to push the anchor out of the chute. It's pretty nice. My wife always struggled with that thing for a while. Happy so far with this mod. s

Maybe threaded in incorrectly. I have all chain rode...Never a problem until once a marine tech decided to relocate how it was deployed. We corrected & never a problem since.
