Air cleaner Yanmar

Any ideas on a differnt air cleaner for the Yanmar engines, such as KN ? just got the boat last spring 3rd time out it sucked a chunk of the foam from the air cleaner in and took out the turbo. 5k later we were back on the water. Thanks
 
There is a discussion in this diesel section under fuel/air seps. I am running 440 Yanmars I have the foam filters also. They do have to be cleaned and once they wear replaced. Isn't there a metal screen behind your filter on the intake?
 
There is 1\4" slots in mine. The foam was old and brital. I bought the boat from a dealer every thing was to be gone threw being it is a 2001 salt boat. This was a summer of lessons for me!!!
