350ss shore power

Hi I have a question for the vendors. In 2005 we had our first ever trip to the U.S. to have a holiday and to buy a boat. We bought a 270 Sea Ray Sundeck from New Port Boats in Marina Del Ray L.A.. As there is no shore power on the 270 there was no problems bringing it back into Australia. We are looking to update to the Formula 350SS and as Australian shore power is 240 volts,50cycles would I be able to order an Australian complyant boat through U.S. dealers or would I have to go direct to Formula and would this add to the cost?
Unfortunately due to the current global financial crisis and being unable to sell our 270 we may have to put off the purchase for the moment.
The Australian $ which was buying 98 cents U.S. has dropped to buying 68 U.S. cents which has a huge impact on the price.
As the wife and I allready have our tickets to Miami in April can anyone suggest a hotel around Sundance Marine and we will just have a look and a holiday?

(There is no formula dealer in Australia. We watch the TV, show C.S.I Miami and it looks like a great place for a holiday.)

Aussie.

Aussie,
I have never been to Miami show so I can't make any recommendations. However there are several international dealers that sell boats set up for European standards as you have described. If I where you I would call Formula and see what they have to say. 260-724-9111. If you would like I can do some checking to see what I can do for you to sell you a boat.
Let me know, Troy

Hi Troy. Thanks for the imfo. Now is not the time to be importing a boat from the U.S..
With the A$ going down faster than the Titanic against the greenback and with shipping and 10% import duty it would put the 350ss at over A$500,000 landed in Australia.
The Australian dealers that import U.S. boats and there is a few have hedge funds to protect against currency movements. At the moment I can get into a 35 foot Four Winns, Sea Ray Bayliner and other U.S. makes for around $300,000 Australian dollars.
We are holidaying in Miami in April staying not far from Sundance Marine. Will have a look at the 350ss while there and make a decision
