Hello, Does anyone have a shipping kit for the hardtop n a 34 pc. I need to ship from Michigan to NH. Also looking for a factory cover.

Thanks

What kind of prices are you getting for removing the hard top and reinstall? I went through this process on my 37 PC with a hard top. My experience was the following:

$1200 for the shipping kit
$3,500 to remove hard top
$3,000 to reinstall (ballpark)
$7,500 to ship from FL to CT

I didn?t want to remove the hard top if I didn?t need to, so I kept digging until I found a transporter who was able to ship the boat with it Installed. Many people will tell you 13? 6? is the max height to ship. This isn?t entirely true. With proper permits, you can easily ship up to 15? high (at least from FL to CT). My boat came in at 14? 10?, and it came here in 3 business days.

Not sure if I?m allowed to post the contact info for vendors, but I?ll give it a shot. Marine Transport Inc. from Fort Lauderdale was who I used. They charged a bit more for permits, but overall they saved me a ton of money and headache taking off the top.

Curious as to what year as my 2008 34' PC with hard top, I was told by several transporters that it is to high and the hard top will have to come off.

You have to get the right transporter. The dimensions for the 37 PC hard top is a bit taller than the 34, and I was told the same thing by many truckers. Eventually I found the place I mentioned - Marine Transport Inc in Ft. Lauderdale. They have a trailer that allows them to drop it very low.

Plus, you can transport over 13? 6? - you just need permits and special routing (which you likely have already due to the width?

The top comes off easy, but it makes no sense to do that if you can leave it on. The trucker will charge more, but not 5-6k more.

Ss my 34 is a 2017. I can’t seem to find a shipper that can haul it with the hard top on. Just a lot of expense to remove and reassemble.

409. I just spoke to Brian and he said he could ship the 34 with the hard top on. Thanks for the advice, hopefully everything works out. Waiting on a price now.

Low Boy trailer is the key. My 08 34PC keel was 6" off the ground with this shipper's trailer. Hardtop was de-rigged. Everything on top was removed. (even the horn). Outdrives were in fully UP position. I wouldn't let anyone take the Hardtop off.

Does anyone know the height from keel to top of hard top. All electronics taken off.

The Forum won't let me upload PDF's, so I can email you these if you want. This is what Formula sent me when I looked into shipping mine.

Keep in mind, I have an IPS powered 37 PC, and they still shipped that (with the pods installed) from FL to CT. It can be done.

Wow. Don't go through all that hassle. Just pick a few weeks and boat there. Best trip ever. Detroit river, lake erie, put-in bay, Erie canal, hudson river to NYC, up east river to Long Island sound, Then off to Boston.

409, Did you shrink wrap for transport? If so would you recommend this... Thanks

I can?t speak for 409, but I didn?t. I didn?t want to take the chance of the tape breaking loose. I doubt it would, but I had no damage from FL to CT. The trip was 4 weeks ago and it rained most of the trip. The boat was FILTHY but it cleaned up.

Thanks, I think I’m not going to cover it for the trip. Formula wants 1750 for a factory cover, and shrink wrap has its own issues is my understanding. I’ll just have to detail it once here.

Have some paint thinner on hand! The bug splatter is EPIC.

When you say factory cover - what exactly is it?
