34 PC Cabin Bilge Pump

Have spent almost 40 hours since Saturday morning crawling all over the 93 I just bought and took delivery on. ;D One thing I can't seem to locate is the cabin area bilge. ??? Was in the aft cabin last night, storing the table and support, the birth cushions under the stairs along with screens and cockpit pad. Pulled up the access hatches and found some (not a tremndous amoutn) of water sitting in bilge. This is the area right under the aft birth. I have had the floor hatches up in the center of the salon area, and they are absolutley dry. Just water in the aft. Looked in the owners manuals that I received with the boat and found the pump diagram and I know its right around the steps leading inot the salon. But where is the access hatch for it. I think the float might be stuck or bad, but the diagram says you can manually operate with the switch next to the pump. ???

I also have a 91 292 SR-1 and I thought that Formula did a good job of utilizing space on the boat. But after getting into this 34 PC, there is not a nook or cranny that isn't used for something. the stowage is great.

Not sure, but my 31PC steps had a storage area under the first step. In this area on the back wall of the steps was 2 wing nuts, then you could slide the complete step assembly out. Under the steps was another hatch ???

Treads,

Don't know if this will help or not. I have a 31PC. My cabin bilge pump is under the aft berth seat. When you lift the cushion off the back center seat section there is a floor hatch on the bottom of the compartment that you can lift off. The AC seacock and strainer are their also with the cabin bilge. Hope this helps.

IN THE CABIN STEPS, AGAINST THE AFT WALL SHOULD BE TWO LARGE WING NUTS. TAKE THEM OFF, AND SLIDE THE WHOLE STEPS OUT OF THE WAY. IN THE FLOOR, SHOULD BE AN ACCESS PANEL THAT LIFTS OUT, EXPOSING A/C STRAINER, BILGE, ETC. GOOD LUCK.

Went looking for the da*n cabin again last night. To no avail.

Checked under the aft birth seat toward the steps, nothing. In the rear section, access port just to a 15" x 15" area, filled with water no doubt.  I did open the second step and saw the 2 large wingnuts, but didn't take a copy or remember specifically what Castines said in his post (sorry Castines).  ???  Thanks for the clarification GSENT.  ;D  I will go to the marina again tomorrow and see if the steps come out, the pump and strainer are there and the switch. Looks like I need to replace the float switch at a minimum.

Its great getting a new to you boat and finding out all this stuff.  ;D

treads,
there will be a high water alarm under there also. the seacock for the a/c needs to be exercised and lubed.

Removed the wingnuts in the rear of the second step, pulled out the step assembly and found the hatch. There was the bilge pump w/float, high water alarm float and the manual pump switch. ;D Pump operated for about 30-40 seconds before it started sucking air. Need to get some bilge cleaner down there, add a little water and go for a cruise. When I return to the marina, I'll use a brush and clean each bilge area out that I can get to. Flush with water and pump out.

Thanks Castines and GSENT for the help, I owe you both one, or a couple some time. ;)
