2003 Formula 330 SS Bridge Clearance and Cape Coral Bridge Heights

Hello,

I currently live in Maryland but we're planning to retire in the Cape Coral area. We have a 2003 330 SS. My question is two-fold:

1.) Is the bridge clearance really only 9 feet for the 330 SS? I haven't measured mine yet (winter storage) but it seems like it would be taller from the waterline. This is not including any gear on the arch I believe. I don't have much besides the horns, anchor light, and folding antenna.

2.) Anyone from the Cape Coral area that can give some insight into the bridges. I have a bridge height map from a realtor, but when I look at boats behind some of the bridges on Google Earth or similar mapping it seems to me that they are taller boats than what the bridge heights would allow.

We're looking in the eastern/southern/and mid Cape Coral area labeled as Gulf Access.

Thanks for your reply Florida Formula Captains!

I have been over the Cape Coral Bridge before and if you are concerned about the height on that one you will have no issues. Not sure about any of the other bridges.

I was just there a couple weeks ago. I have a friend that lives off Country Club Blvd. He has a 25' center console with T-top, and has no issues getting under the small bridge on Del Prado Bldv.

The bridges I'm concerned with are the canal bridges within Cape Coral itself, as in the above post from 2006_31PC. Thanks!! Next time I'm down there maybe I'll knock on some doors!

I live in Cape Coral. In a nutshell, leaving from "your"dock/lift, here is a quick and general overview (assuming you could get your boat there in the first place, lol). Most of the SW Cape Coral gulf access homes that have bridges to contend with have very LOW clearance. Most boat like yours that have an arch, have to get the arch hinged. That is a PITA and expensive. However, the SE section (like the guy taking out his 25' CC with T-tops) generally has bridges with higher clearances. The best bet, depending on your house budget for either section, is to focus on "sailboat access" homes. Those are gulf access properties that have NO bridges to contend with on the way out to the intercoastal, therefore NO clearance issues to contend with (unless you were to take your boat to visit the 25' CC guy, maybe). That way if you added electronics or have a "high" high tide coming in or going out, it doesn't affect your boating plans. Plus, you never know when you might get two-foot-itis, lol.

FYI, my wife is a realtor for here in Cape Coral. So, if you need any info, let me know and I can put you in touch with her (unless you already have a realtor you are working with here).

I live in the cape I know exactly the info you need I'm living it... I own a 2005 33ss with arch and light on top, during the dry season Nov to late May you'll have no problem....after that light has to come off and 95 percent of the time you'll be good by a few inches ...you can tell by the water level off the seawalls you want to be a few inches below the weep holes...above or even your in the danger zone......The one bridge I go under is located under surfside and 40th.......good luck
