Cabinet Door finish separating from door

Update on my solution: for the truly damaged laminated wood pieces that had missing or cracked sections of laminate, I sent them back to the manufacturer for refinishing. For the pieces that had the entire laminate separate from the solid wood in one intact piece, after removing all the drawer...

Removing door and drawer hardware in 2006 PC40 laminated cabin drawers and doors

If anyone is reading this thread I did confirm that the laminated front panel on cabinet drawers is held to the drawer by two screws, plus double sided tape between the back of the laminated front panel and the front of the wooden drawer compartment. Squirt some goof-off solvent in the small...

Removing door and drawer hardware in 2006 PC40 laminated cabin drawers and doors

I am trying to remove the cabinet door hardware in my PC40 and there is a round metal rosette forced into the pre-drilled hole that I do not want to damage during removal, so I wonder if anyone has any experience getting that rosette out of the hardware hole. I was told by formula that it is...

Ventilation Hatch Lens Replacement PC40 and SS280

Has anyone been successful finding a company or do it yourself technique to replace the acrylic lens in Bomar hardtop ventilation hatches? My 2006 PC40 hardtop hatches and my 280SS have cracks in the acrylic lens window. Bomar / Pompanette does not offer lens only parts for this hardtop hatch...

Cabinet Door finish separating from door

Just to give some feedback, that iron technique was marginally successful for me compared to Gustaf results above. It actually seemed to be working on the flat sections of the cabinet doors, but on the rounded ends, the laminate seem to curl up and did not bond as well as the flat sections...

    40pc questions. Looking to purchase.

Anthony75, This is my first year of use with a 2006 PC40. I’ve been boating under 28 feet for decades but this boat takes the cake. Yanmar twin 440’s have treated me well. I avoided the pod drives for the same reason you have, the temptation of the joystick is hard to overlook, but every pod I...

    2005 330ss head door

I assume you are referring to the glossy plastic laminate that is on most of the cabinetry and doors? I asked a similiar question on August 25, 2023 with the thread titled “cabinet door finish separating…” and was given two remedies: One remedy was using an iron to heat and re-bond the...

Cabinet Door finish separating from door

Thank you for the contact info and I will be in touch base with them. I have a combination of almost fully separated laminate and partial separation, about 6 doors total, I guess it wouldn't hurt to check all the options.

    anchor washdown hose

Bill. I have a PC40 and the anchor washdown uses fresh water from the holding tank. As long as the main breaker for the water pump is turned on, the hose will be pressurized. Just push the quick connect end of the coiled hose into the fitting near the windlass and you should be in business...

Cabinet Door finish separating from door

Hi all, has anyone had a problem with the beautiful brown finish to the cabinets and doors, where the solid finish layer separates from the core starting at the edges, and eventually migrates to the entire door over time? The high luster finish (I'm not sure what the material is) can be found on...
