This may not help the OP since this is a very old thread - however for the benefit of folks looking for torsion axles - http://www.reliabletool.com/ makes nice ones. I had them on my old Prestige tandem and loved them. BTW Prestige is gone. Their patterns, tooling etc were bought by Heritage in Benton, IL earlier this year.
