Still trying to figure out photos??

As an example, if i look at my winter projects posts, all the photos are there but i have to click on each one to see anything. is this normal or is there a setting i need to change? as i look thru the forum it seems that everyone else has older stuff that shows up so im still trying to figure this out.

I haven't...lol but looks to me like your pics are being uploaded as attachments vs. an embedded pic. I just upload all pics to my photobucket account, then copy the "IMG" link and paste that in my post or reply. The txt looks something like this:

[image]http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i25/andybellus/Gauge%20wiring%203_zpsqgq3nfpt.jpg[/image]"
but the "[image]" tags around the link should be I had to change them so you could see the txt

Hope this helps, as I would like to see the finished work without clicking the links myself! lol

EDIT: Just looked at the video and it's not a true example of what we see(or at least what I see) when I try to post new thread or reply to an existing one. I have no "tool bar" with buttons for creating links, inserting photos, formatting txt, adding smileys and such... I think the admins need to change some settings to bring that back but not 100%

Working on the tool bar. It must be a setting. Only about 50 or so to look at.
 
Try it now. I made it the default tool bar now. It was set do you could mamage this in your own settings but now should work please let me know
 
i see that when i check the thread above my winter projects (bar is open thread) the attached thumbnails are there and i can see them as a pic. i still can't see mine though, it is still just a link. not sure how to clear cache or cookies, are you talking about within the forum?? i went thru all my settings again and the box is checked to show thumbnails so i must still be missing something.
 
No, video won't help yet(Sounds like Steve the Admin is working to get that tool bar back).... Are you attaching the pics via this site or thirdparty picture hosting site like photobucket?
 
Ok, I just changed a setting and found out I had to run a query to update all users. Let me know if it works now. Please check this prior to next steps, this way I can make sure I fixed it for the all members to be default tool bar.

If not, you can follow these instructions until I figure out how to fix it globally.

Up by your user name, top right click on Settings. On left hand side there will "My Settings" selections. Scroll down to "General Settings" and click it.

Once in General Settings scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options". Then Message Editor Interface. Select "Enhanced Interface"

This should give you the full tool bar.

However, please let me know if the query fixed it prior to doing the above steps.

I've got the tool bar now!

Just going to test a bit with this post if you don't mind....

Interesting, if you use the "insert image" icon and choose "from computer" it shows it as a small thumbnail pic that you can click on and it will open to larger size....

However if I use the "insert image" icon and choose "from URL" with the "retrieve remote file and reference it locally" box checked I get a "error:Invalid URL" uncheck the box and the same URL works fine and embeds the pic below.
