Boat is 2019 240 bowrider with 6.2 350hp. smartcraft guage shows starboard oxygen sensor not working properly. changed it but the message still shows. Does the system need to be reset or should the guage know that a working sensor has been installed.
 
All these new motors need a scanner to see what is happening to determine what is needed. Rinda makes Techmate Pro and Diacom software. Techmate is good for those knowing what to look for, but Diacom has the ability to record info for playback
 
You will need to have the code cleared with a scanner. The smartcraft wont let you clear this type of error code.
Run the engine for a decent amount of time to see if the new O2 sensor is working properly while the tech is there. If the error reoccurs he will be able to see what the sensor is reading. Keep in mind that this exact error could be caused by the fuel pressure regulator. If the regulator is plugged up causing the fuel pressure to exceed 43 pounds the O2 sensor will try to correct that issue by creating a lean condition and sending the code of O2 sensor not functioning properly. I would pull the Fuel Pressure regulator and clean the screen if it is dirty then have the code reset and go from there.
