Hello all! Stumbled in this forum looking for info on a 2005 bow rider I found on eBay. Don't know much about Formula but always willing to learn from owners with first hand experience. I have a house right off Barnegat Bay in Bayville, NJ and have 7 years of boating experience with my family's Hurricane Fundeck. Sadly the boat was damaged during Hurricane Sandy so I sold it a few years ago. Wife and I are looking to get back into boating, but we're going back and forth whether to buy a new boat. She says yes, we have the warranty, but I'm saying no considering the boat may sit for a period of time and I would be upset of my $200/month boat (just estimating) was sitting and I didn't use it. I really don't buy toys new anyway.

Looking forward to learning more about these boats!

First off Formulas are extremely well built boats, with a reputation that follows, few question how many hours are on the engines, has it been water kept, if so how’s the bottom paint and the outdrives look, if your buying used boat make sure to get a survey done me personally I ALWAYS also get an engine compression test, that way you know what you’re buying. Good luck if you buy you’ll love Formula

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with the boat search. As far as new vs used, that's going to be a personal choice for you and your wife to make. My general thoughts are if you're fairly certain you're going to keep the boat for a long period of time (10 - 15 years), and you can afford it, consider going new. If you think there is a reasonable chance you going to move up or get out of boating after a few years, definitely go used.

Looks like the price is what it is because of some damage to the imron. The pictures look like its clean, but not sure if that's pre or post damage.
