New TV on my 1994 34 PC fits perfectly

I installed a 15 inch flat screen tv on the rear closet a few years ago which works great for the aft cabin berth. I also put a twin areo bed on top of the cushions which we leave up all the time and top it off with a twin trava sack sleeping bag. These two items make for a very comfortable stay and are preferable then even sleeping on the v-berth. A couple of weeks ago the main tv went in the galley and I wanted to replace it with a flat screen without ripping the cabnets appart. The idea I can up with is I bought a tv that was just a bit bigger than the opening, lined the inside of the opening with Velcro and then lined the tv with the mate Velcro, which allowed the tv to mount flush with the hole. It looks great.

I'll get the exact model in a few days, I think it's a samsung 17 inch, Walmart. The speakers are bottom mount, and the frame is clear of buttons so the Velcro wouldn't cover anything. I left the base on and that allows the top to fit snug to the top, and gives me a place under the TV for the remote. Removing the old TV is tough, a large screw hold it in from the top, I removed the long plastic cover on the side cabnet, and think I might put a couple of hinges there for easy access.

Re: New TV on my 1994 34 PC perfect fit TV

The TV is a 18.5 Sanyo DP19640. This TV fit perfectly into the opening of the older style 34 pc, just Velcro around the edge of the TV and put the other side of the Velcro on the inside of the opening. Put the stand on the base of the TV and by gaining access via the left side plastic panel, push the TV flush up against the opening. I'll try and post a pic in a few days.
