New Trailer Tires - 16 No more 16.5!

My trailer came with the coveted "rare-and-stupid" 16.5" rims/tires.

After a highway blowout, and the resulting knowledge that 16.5 tires are rare and "good luck with that".
I needed some new.

So.... Found these. With free ship, I bought ONE to test fit, make sure it would clear the brake, etc.
ONE came quickly. Ordered 3 more.. on back order Not a big deal, I can't really move the trailer until spring anyway... but still, who likes to wait?!

Now that I have 16" wheels, a new tire, if needed, should be readily available. I also plan to keep 1-2 of the old ones that hold air as a spare.

For a few bucks more per wheel, I think they look pretty cool...
They shipped fast, ready to bolt up. Even set to 80 PSI.



Now if only they would ship me the final 3...

Mounted the spare! Couldn't find a reasonably priced spare carrier for a 6" tall frame, and didn't really want to weld/drill the frame, so I did some math in my head of trailer height 6" + 1/2 wheel height maybe 8" = 4, total = 10" and found a u-bolt about that size. the bolt was like $16, and free ship was $25+ so I also ordered a ton of the blue shop towels... because you can never have enough shop towels.

I put the u-bolt on the floor under my feet and pulled up until the spacing was what I needed. My arms hurt...

So, for what it's worth, I now have a mounted spare on the trailer... so unlike last time when we rode home on 2.5 good tires, now we should roll on 4 good + a spare in case!
