What's "LS" stand for?....242LS? SS?....Mike.

I don't know for sure, but I think LS stands for Luxury Sport. SS is Sun Sport.

330 and under SS stands for sun sport, in the 370 and 400 the SS stands for super sport.

Even though my 87 242 is a Sun Sport (SS), this boat model is listed as an LS also.

Yes. The LS, Luxury Sport (maybe Lounge Sport) has bolsters and the SS SunSport in 87 has captain seat and sun lounger.
The SS has a single hatch and the LS has two hatches. More seating room in the cabin of the LS.

The bolsters were an option on the 242LS models.

if i remember correctly, the ls was bench rear seat and two buckets, some models had different decks also. the ss was a single bucket for the driver and a back to back passenger with a modified motor box.

As Chuck said, bolsters were a seperate option for the LS. I've even seen an 87 242 SR-1 (twins) with the sit down buckets.
