K-Plane Help

Attached is an image of kplane on my 357 it functions fine but, looks pretty rough. Other than replacing are there rebuild kits for these, what is involved in removing to clean it up? How does it seal behind mounting plate? What is everyones experience doing this? Thanks.

they are just lag bolted into the transom. Expect some rot in the transom where the indicator cable goes through. It may be a better left alone project.....
