Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 1999 41 PC

Hello everyone ,

I am currently in the process of selling my 1997 Sea Ray 330DA, which should be a done deal by the week's end. I have been on clubsearay.com since I purchased the 330 and found that forum to be very informative and helpful and after some creeping on this forum I am very excited to see the same amount of support on this forum as well. The reason that I am selling my 330DA is because I have the opportunity to purchase a 1999 Formula 41PC with twin Cummin's from a close friend who has had the boat since 2003 and has taken very well care of her and is now looking to downsize into something like a small tug. Aside for the obvious such as headliner issue that these experience ( this one included ) what are some things to be aware of?. I know that with Sea Ray, they experience soft core and de-lamination issues due to balsa coring on the deck surfaces, does or did formula also use balsa coring?. I am completely confident in the engine's as I know that Cummins provides a sense of reliability however I have never owned a Diesel boat so I am curious if there are any extra maintenance items or processes to winterize ect. The boat has been in fresh and light brackish water ( upper Chesapeake and Delaware River) at least since 2003 so I am not as concerned with corrosion although I have read that the after coolers need servicing every so often.

Sorry for all of the questions in an introductory post but I am very excited and look forward to receiving feedback and or advice!

- Bob
