First Formula!

Hi guys,

My name is Chris, I am new to the forum and Formula ownership. We are currently finishing up the purchasing process on a 98 34 pc with v drives. The boat passed the survey yesterday and we should be finishing up with the financials this week. Our last boat was a Wellcraft St Tropez so were excited to be moving into a newer nicer boat. Im sure Im going to have a million questions about this boat so anybody who owns or has owned a first gen 34 any advice or tips are certainly welcome! Thanks!

First, welcome to the forum.
There have been debates about veedrives vs. outdrives, and I am pro outdrives. Make sure the veedrives are for you.
The older 34 pc's are fantastic boats. Handle well, and are a pleasure to operate. I had a 94 and just loved the boat. Cannot say enough about the storage. It had a place for just about everything. Mine had the palm beach accents, and I wish that color scheme was still available today. Even though it was dated, I still got compliments on the beauty of the boat.

Thanks, I bought the v drive version specifically because I'm more familiar with them than outdrives. I've read some of your and others' posts about it and I agree it is TIGHT getting to the front of the engines on the vees. I have a 13 year old nephew who's gonna learn a lot about servicing boat engines this summer! My boat has the neutral color scheme. Also I boat out of Catawba Island OH should have mentioned that in my first post.
 
Welcome Chris, congratulations on your new boat. The formula forum is a great asset to your boat ownership. According to Murphy's law, what can go wrong will. That's why this forum is so valuable, somebody else has already had the same problem and fixed it.
 
i've got the '95 version of your boat, virtually the same. love the v-drives, they suit our type of boating well and outdrive maintenance is a thing of the past too. Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum :)
 
Yeah I've been checking out some of your mod. posts and Im impressed with the stereo work. The po installed a pretty good setup so I doubt ill be messing with mine. Those 502s gotta move that boat!
 
Congrats and welcome to the forums! You're going to love it. I'm still addicted to my new formula and I got it back in October.
