Engine temp

Boat is 2019 240 BR with the Merc 6.2/350HP. Engine temp has always topped out at 150 at idle as well as at speed. Just Changed the thermostat as part of regular maintenance at the 190 hour mark. This will be an every other year item for me. The boat now holds 150 degrees at cruising speed, but temp goes up to 160 at idle. Is this acceptable? Merc Part 8M0089715. 140 degree stat

Something doesn't seem right. I have the 8.2 Mercs. Temps always run 171 at Idle and cruise. I can watch the temps come up on my display, when I start up, they usually go up to 174 then right back down to 171 as the stat opens. Maybe an impeller issue, seems like maybe not enough raw water flow at idle.

UPDATE.......Put about 6 hours on them since my post. Temps hold steady at 165. I have the smartcraft digital guages which show the exact temp, compared to a dial guage. They have stayed the same the whole time. Just find it kinda odd that the operating temp changed 15 degress just through changing the stat. Impeller kit on back order, but not overly concerned with that yet, only 16 hours
