Mike here with the 1988 F29 PC, with VP AC271C and DP290 drives. Been off the forum for awhile but back in the groove working hard to get this boat put back together. Took apart the upper unit to try and rebuild the u joints, not having fun getting the joints apart. Anyone with a suggestion please shout!
Since I had the drive off, I wanted to strip the antifouling paint and repaint the drives so I though I would share what I have done so far. I bough a sample quart from Dumond Chemical there Marine Stripper. It ships with a wax type paper that you apply and let it sit overnight, then peel off with the paint. I have to give this product my kudos as it worked really well and saved a lot of time of sanding.
