Currently A Bastard Forum Lurker But Looking To Change This Quickly

Greetings -y. I am looking for something in the 24-27ft range (e,g, 42 LS & 272 SR1). I stumbled on to something called a F-271 SR1, is this likely a typo, or is there a model 271 and so, how does it differ from the 272? I think I am starting to prefer the 272, as I get older I think more about comfort than thrills.




If you have insights into;



  • what I should look for,?
  • what I should look to avoid?
  • where can I find boats not yet listed that are coming up for sale?
  • Twin screws vs. single (I’m currently favoring the twins/ mods putting them ~ 400hp…not so sure I want to drag around 2 BBC’s though)?
…or anything else I should be aware of?

271 SR-1s were made from 93 to 96. 97 they switched to the Fastech hull and dropped the SR-1. 271 is 27ft overall, while the 272 comes in at 29ft. You'll get bounced around less in the 272 than the 271, they were heavier and came with twins where the 271 is just a single. Look for rot in the older SR-1s. All boats are going to have moisture its just how much that should be of concern.
